ANZAC Day – Response To Text (L3)

Task Description:This week in literacy we explored the history and importance of Anzac day. we learned about what Anzac stands for Australia, new Zealand,army,corps, what happened in gallipolim and the sacrifices our brave soldiers made in 1915 at ANZAC COVE. 6.   What were some of the most significant challenges that the ANZAC soldiers faced during the Gallipoli campaign? Try to include examples. One of the significant jobs they had to do was climb the cliff because they landed in the wrong spot, they kept trying and trying to climb the cliff but just couldn’t succeed and that’s when they were caught off guard and then the other team got advantage of them and started firing at them with their guns 

 

7.  Which values are reflected in the ANZAC Day traditions and events? 

One of the values is where we have to support the people who went to war for our country and sacrificed their lives for our countries. 

 

8. Why do you think the commemoration of ANZAC Day has endured for so long, even as the actual events of the Gallipoli campaign have faded from living memory?

 

Because sons have lost their fathers and wives have lost their husbands and they won’t forget what those people have done for our country and they could have said no but they wanted to go to war with the other countries just to protect their own country.

 9.  What are some examples of courage, sacrifice, and commitment that we can see in our own community? Make sure if there is something that is in need make sure you should volunteer your time so you can help the community or help anyone who needs it but just always make sure you have a turn of volunteering your time like the soldiers did for our country.
